My niece & nephew are cooler than your's

Being an Aunt again has been so amazing!  It's almost surreal actually.  It's funny to me that I can be so OK with my children calling me "mommy" but being called "Aunt Cari" makes me feel REALLY special!  Maybe it's because being an Aunt comes with less responsibility, so in a way, I feel the "love em and leave em" credo of grandparents applies to me as well.  I remember my Aunts and Uncles were always so much fun when I was a child and I aspire to that also.  Sometimes I feel like I'm so distracted with my own children (which isn't a bad thing) that I miss out on the whole experience though.......does that make sense??  Like, my sister and my brother got to be "Aunt" & "Uncle" before being "Mom" and "Dad." Does that make them better at it?? Perhaps.

I know this isn't a new phenomenon or anything & maybe I'm talking in circles, but I think there should be a special day each year that you get to spend only with your nieces and nephews while someone watches your own kids for you!!  Then you can be completely fun and undistracted by your own brood.....I think our nieces and nephews deserve this, right?

I, personally, have THE BEST niece and nephew ever!! I'm soooo in love with them :)  I can't wait to watch them grow and interact with my own children. They're going to be the best of friends, I'm just sure of it! I just feel so blessed to have such close relationships with my sister and brother and their spouses, not to mention my whole family.  Life just wouldn't be the same without them......and especially not without their adorable offspring.  So, this is just my written tribute to my wonderful family, but mostly to Macy Claire and Cohen Michael.  I love you two and I am looking forward to what life has in store for you! Just thinking of you both makes me smile, and I hope that in years to come, thinking of me will cause you to do the same :)
