My Attempt at a Hobby

I'm in the process of learning how to use my Canon Rebel XT camera. We've had it for years and I've always slapped it into auto mode, used the flash for EVERYTHING and been satisfied with it.  All of a sudden.....something has changed.  I'm unhappy with my pictures I've been taking and I have this burning desire to make beautiful pictures.  I think about it all the time, google photography information in my "free" time, stay up late practicing and I've turned my children into photography subjects morning, noon and night whether they want to or not.

From what I've read, the best way to become a good photographer is to just get your camera out and start taking pictures.  I've learned about aperture, shutter speeds, ISO, saturation and much more.  It's really been an amazing journey (all 2 days of it)  It's just been enjoyable to have something that interests me again!

I loved how the Ken Rockwell website said that women make better photographers because they, in their nature, generally do photography to make beautiful pictures, whereas men tend to like photography for all the equipment!!  I've been encouraged by what I've been able to produce so far.  Hoping I can continue to learn and get better and better not just for my own personal records, but for my children to have someday too.

(And I DO understand that these pictures are nothing spectucular, but they are far better than anything I've personally ever taken before.....and hey, after 2 days of practice, I think I'm doing AOK)
